Scandals surface again !!
Indian cricket and scandals go hand in hand but thankfully, it is a West Indian who is in the hot seat now. Nagpur police came out with the allegation that they have taped conversation of Marlon Samuels talking to bookied Kochar. According to the police, Samuels revealed the team composition as well as the bowling order in advance to the bookie and all this seemed to have taken place before the 1st ODI. The big question, which needs to be answered, if the police are so sure, why did they keep quiet for so long and more important why did they let him go scot free? In anycase, Samuels own innings will be getting under the radar of the pundits and indeed at Nagpur, he slowed the tempo - to increase the asking rate from 6 odd to 9 odd.

Hmmm..
I guess the only guy who did the right thing during the match fixing era was Mr Hansie Cronje. He had the guts to accept his fault and was willing to look forward rather than look behind. But all we gave him back was the title 'Disgraced skipper' !! .
Such a shame that there are guys in the international arena who get away doing things like this. To make matter worse, they come out and say that 'I didn't know he was a bookie'.
Irrespective of whether he is a bookie or not, players should be punished for discussing game tactics with any third party.
I am sure there are other players who do this match after match.
ICC should come down very heavily on them. But unfortunately ICC acts only against umpires, and not against players.
ICC for all practical purposes is a toothless body and as far as the WI cricket board, the less said the better. There is inter Island rivalry, politics and a general lack of control and I do not expect anything drastic to come out of this. With worldcup in WI, they will somehow rush this down under the carpet and make Samuels a vice captain the coming years !!
